My Dad is just starting to have some balance issues and started using a second-hand cane when he goes out in public. I poured over specs and reviews of true medical canes with seats before finding this. It has been the perfect solution so far and both of us are thrilled with it. Here are some of the things that sold me on it:Sturdiness. All the seats on the other canes looked so flimsy and the weight capacity was very low. On some of the canes, the seat was barely a ledge. This walking cane has a good size seat with a simple, but seemingly solid catch mechanism. Of course, he does have to sit relatively still and not lean back. But it isn’t supposed to be a lounge chair! It is perfect as a place he can pause and catch his breath but not be afraid of the whole thing tipping over.Since it is made for trails, it has wider feet that give it good stability.Compact. The other seat canes are bulky and sloppy looking. They look like you are carrying a folding chair. Some of them have legs that fold flat, but not together. That seems like a tripping hazzard for Dad and anyone walking near him. This one folds up into one stick with the seat folding itself in half around the tip half of the stick. Nothing sticking out to catch on or draw attention.Weight. Since this was made for hiking, it is lightweight. What is the point in making someone who already has mobility issues lug around another 5 pounds? This is light with a good balance to it.Ease of use. Since it is light and compact, it can be taken anywhere. The seat pops open and shut with one movement.Vanity. It doesn’t look like an “hospital” thing. It doesn’t have the traditional cane handle. It comes in a couple colors. It blends in pretty well and isn’t fussy.Price. Not the cheapest option, but is a good value since it provided everything we were looking for.Bottom line: My Dad is more likely to use this, which means he can get out and about more. It adds to his quality of life.

I have some mobility, stamina & balance issues. This sear cane is very helpful to me in certain situations such as shows, festivals , gatherings where their may be walking and limited seating. It’s sturdy & lightweight enough & unfolds easily. You must straddle the handle when sitting for it to be secure on the ground. (so if you’re a woman in a certain length dress…). It’s not ideal to use as a regular cane because of the triple legs (like a tripod) so it’s wide at bottom. But it’s very beneficial in certain situations.

I read a lot of reviews that mentioned it being unstable or too short. My weight varies from 105-110 lbs and Im around 5 foot 6 inches tall. It’s on the longest length & is just perfect to walk with, although if I was taller this could be an issue I can’t further extend it. They definitely should make another 2 sizes longer on the cane for the 6ft babes out there. I think it stays steady on all 3 feet, however since it’s still new it’s stiff to open. I’ve seen people with similar ones have less struggle so imma say with use it’ll get better. The seat is fine, cups my bottom, not too small or too big, but I’m small. I could see bringing a jacket to make it more comfoy to sit on long term bc it’s just plastic. The seat does wobble a tad if your wobbling, so it’s definitely a seat you want to be mindful about your activities, I bought it mainly for concerts. The sitting position is really comfy but I did see people in skirts had issues, so that’s something to be mindful about as well. It’s pretty lightweight, I’m planning on decorating it so it’s good to know I can go ham. This is my first mobility aid and I know it will really help me, if you’re nervous about getting one, don’t be! I had so many people with one tell me to get it. I’m so excited to know I won’t have to leave the concert floor to find somewhere say to sit or lay, now I can stick around for more concerts!

Just received this today and I’m really pleased! I wanted something to take when I am going to have to wait in lines and for walks, as I have lumbar problems but I can walk more if I can just sit for a minute sometimes. I think it’s going to be great. It sets up and folds down in just a moment, and requires no strength to do it. It’s lighter than I even expected, very easy to carry. I am only 5 foot 2, so I bought the shortest one, and it is just the right length for me to use as a cane if I need to. As of now I don’t need to use a cane, although I do use a trekking pole for anything more than a short walk on a totally flat surface, and I think this can replace the trekking pole for medium grade walks. I would probably not take this on very difficult or rocky terrain, but I can’t really do that kind of hiking anymore anyway. To sit on, the Ta-Da Cane is extremely stable. It feels safer than a lot of flimsy folding chairs I have sat on! Obviously it is not quite as stable on grass or an uneven surface but if you are careful you can still do it. I wish it was a little less expensive so more people could have it. The only thing I might add is a wrist strap. There’s a plastic part that comes out of the handle to hang it on the back of your chair, but it’s not comfortable to hang off your wrist. That’s minor though. Overall I’m very pleased; I think it’s going to greatly improve my comfort and my ability to get out and do things… and not let my back pain limit my life.

For me this chair is excellent. I gave it only four stars because the seat is small and hard, and there is no backrest so you have to be able to sit erect without support. Because I have been sitting on a piano bench for over 70 years, these are not problems for me. The cane chair is compact so fits easily into crowded back seat of a car. It is light and easy to carry. When you have read the instructions and done it a few times, it is easy to open, lock into position, unlock and close. Completely changed my perspective on having to wait for Access-a-ride in situations where there is no place to sit. It also works as a cane, but I rarely use it that way.

sturdy little thing that kept me comfortable while waiting for games at the pinball convention i bought it to take to.it works like crutches as far as adjustability & it was easy to fit to my 5’6” height.i’ll only use it once a year, but it was totally worth the money spent for what i intend to use it for.and it’s fun to walk with as a cane.
